And I just have to add this photo of Icabod...helping me can peaches and plums on Monday...oh my...

This is actually the most recent card I've made:
My first attempt is at the left.
Made as a sample for a card workshop:
From the Avonlea Card workshop earlier this month.

Well...I've been away too long! I've been working with a technique called Triple Level Stamping...and just love it! So here are a few cards that I've done recently. Let me know what you think.

Huge, beautiful moon out on this clear evening! Our blog-hop starts tomorrow! Enjoy!

Clementine Blog Hop!

If you came from Janine Garcia/http://jninesworld.blogspot.com/2012/08/ClementineCreation.html you are in the right place!

If you have jumped here and just discovered our blog hop, feel free to check the list at Damask Divas blog, www.damaskdivas.com/bloghopclementine/ to find the complete list of blog hop participants.

"Clementine" is one of my favorite new paper packs from Close to My Heart! This simple card was created using the "Artiste" Cricut cartridge, the tiny sparkles and also Barn Red ink.

All of the items shown here (except for the small circular piece of vellum) are from the paper pack. I also used one of our new markers (Twilight blue dots) to accent around the edges of the focal point in this piece of artwork. I hope you will leave me a comment or two! This was a fun and quick project to create and I'm happy to share it!

The next blog on the list is: Karina's/Inspir3d2create.blogspot.com/2012/08/damask-divas-september-blog-hop.html. Hope you have a great time on our hop and checking out all the creations using "Clementine".  If you get lost, just hop on over to www.damaskdivas.com/bloghopclementine/ for the full list. These links go live on September 1st.

Good morning everyone! Just had to get a photo of our 'baby' on here somewhere...this is Icabod...he came to live with us about a month ago and reminds us so much of Kirby! His mannerisms and personality are so like Kirby that it's almost uncanny! He's lighter colored and no white feet or chest, but he's adorable and we love him bunches!

Tuesday, August 28, 2012

Good morning! In the attempt to be a better blogger, I've decided to post some past artwork that I've done...maybe it will inspire someone to do something creative!
This is a leftover project that I did at a Close to My Heart gathering right before Father's Day in June. We put a handful of peanuts inside the bag! Papers were from the "Dotty for You" collection and letters were all cut using "Art Philosophy". Love that cartridge!
Completed projects from our June Wednesday Workshop...a little bit of variety. I found this idea posted online, but didn't know how to finish it...how to attach the flower (which actually has a pin backing and can be removed and worn as a pin). So...I did my own version...later found further instructions online, but I think these turned out rather well anyway!
I'd posted earlier this July project (I think it was for July!), but ended up doing this second one in pink since I have so many granddaughters! I have been thinking about making one for each of the grandchildren as a Christmas gift and putting their photos in the frames...love the Dr. Seuss quote which is also from CTMH. Of course, frames and such were cut with "Art Philosophy". The flower was created by folding circles and gluing, then adding a button to the center. All stamps were from CTMH and I had the little handprint punch already from years ago.
One of the most recent Artsy-Craftsy Club projects. Made with craft sticks, wire and craft foam...and the flowers are from the new "Artiste" cartridge. Found out rather quickly that it's important to use permanent ink on lettering...messed this one up and had to fix it...still a little messy! Good that I always make a sample as a learning experience, right? Today we're having the club and making stenciled bags and some "cheer up" and "hope you're feeling better soon" cards for a service project. Will post photos later. Have a wonderful day!

Monday, August 27, 2012

More photos and new project postings tomorrow...I promise...somewhere in between a piano lesson, Artsy-Craftsy club with the kids, baking bread and making taco dip for the Banjo Band potluck tomorrow night! I WILL post more...promise! G'night for now!

One last thing for tonight...well, actually two, I guess...
First of all, for those who live locally, don't forget our "Avonlea Card Workshop" that is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 5th from 10-12 a.m. at my house. Bring your own "Avonlea" card Workshop-On-The-Go kit. Cost is $5 which will be donated to "Operation Smile". If you don't have the card kit, bring $15 and I will provide supplies for you. $5 will still be donated to "Operation Smile".

And a great big SHOUT OUT to my downline, NICOLE EVANSON, for just reaching her second Straight-To-The-Top Goal all within her first month as being a consultant! I am so very proud of her! She's amazing!
As an added incentive, anyone who books a gathering (in person or online) between now and September 14th will receive their choice of a FREE "My Stickease" or "Complements" from the new Idea Book. (You can view the Idea Book on my web site, too!) --- of course, if you have at least $150 in orders you will receive FREE gifts anyway! PLUS, if you decide that this crafty stuff is for you and you'd like to earn some extra income or just have lots of free stuff and discounts for yourself, then you can join my team "The Bloomin' Crafty Divas" and I will give you a FREE paper pack of your choice from the new Idea Book once you're all signed up! You can take your choice of two options: the "Basic" package which is only $49 or the all-inclusive at $99. Either one is fantastic! I've been doing some price comparisons with the "competition" and CTMH has the best prices by far! (This photo shows the "Basic" package . . . and if you sign my right away you will get one of those beautiful damask bags to carry it in!)
And...don't forget our "Baroque Borders" Stamp of the Month (SOTM) for August! You can get this gorgeous stamp set for only $5 with a $50 purchase through August 31st.

September is right around the corner and we, of course, have another fantastic Stamp of the Month for September! It's so cute....I can hardly wait to get one for myself!

AUGUST

                                                     SEPTEMBER
Time for something new...it's been TOO LONG since I was here last! So, first with a little news...still applying for jobs and going to interviews. Hopefully something happens and soon...but I'm still an independent consultant for "Close to My Heart" also! Love their products and their prices!
I'm having an "online party" right now over on my web site (www.bloomincrafty.ctmh.com) through September 15th. This is National Stamping Month, so CTMH is offering a double stamp set ($35 value) for only $5 with any $35+ order! WOW! That's only through September 15th, so if you want one of those, please visit my site and order ASAP!

And...this Wednesday, July 18th, is the next "Workshop Wednesday"...we're making this cute little frame using the "Art Philosophy" cartridge and also a 1" circle punch to make the flower.  Each of the small squares at the top will hold a photo when completed. I might go back and add a few additional flowers to make it more complete. This was my sample for sign-ups. 10 a.m.-11:30 at my home and $10 gives you everything you need to make this project.

Here is my version of the ever-popular "Art Philosophy" board...samples of many of the die cut images and 3-D objects. Oh, "Artiste" is only going to amaze you even more!

 Front cover of closed book...
Inside, first two pages - you can put tags or photos or little notes in the little pockets. I wrote various verses about friendship on the background papers.
The road to a friends house is never long.
Friendship isn't a BIG thing...it's a million little things...her favorite color is purple, so I tried to include some in the color scheme of things!

My favorite page is the chocolate chip cookie...friends are the chocolate chips in the cookies of life!
And last, but not least( for now) - this little "meander" book was made from one double sided sheet of 12x12 paper. Although the paper is not CTMH, I thought it turned out really cute. We made these at our last Workshop Wednesday and they were a definite hit. This is one I made for my hairdresser since she had to cancel her party for tomorrow (holiday!) and reschedule and she felt so badly about having to do that! I wanted her to know that her friendship means a lot to me...so this book is entitled "Friendship..."
In June, I'm teaching how to make this little exploding box at a gathering. We're actually making these for graduation party favors! This is just one I sort of "threw together" with what I had around the house. I think the actual boxes might have a real tassel or at least gold colored ribbon. The hostess is getting the supplies and I will do the prep before the gathering.  They will hold treats inside and have a "thank you" on the reverse side of the mortar board.

Well...I have no excuse for being to tardy at posting again! Yes, I've been busy, but there really is no excuse for being so behind! I haven't had any gatherings for awhile...there's a new workshop next Wednesday (for Father's Day!) that I've been preparing. My gathering for tomorrow was canceled since nobody was going to come on Memorial Day weekend...but it's being rescheduled for June...so I will have, I think, at least 5 gatherings in June!  Here are a few of the little projects I've been working on...a couple more birthday cards.

 (For Alicia's belated birthday)

I haven't been here for awhile...today I made two birthday cards and a "generic" card so thought I'd post them. I've been using a lot of the "Dotty For You" papers and really like them! I might just have to spend some money sometime soon in order to get some more!

(Generic- left, Ross' bd card - right)

Tuesday, May 1, 2012

Taught a little class yesterday at a crafty birthday party...we made cupcakes using the "Art Philosophy" cartridge and "Dotty for You" paper! Cute, huh? I saw something similar on several different sites, but nothing quite like this, so this is my own adaptation! Nearly all of the others I saw didn't have instructions of how to make them..well, Mandy's did/does, but that's about the only one that looked like a real cupcake. Here are my instructions:
Cut one Box #1 using Font Layer at 3 1/2 inches, glue it to a 5" doilie shape of your choice. Cut two strips of Dotty paper - 2" wide - 1 at 12" and 1 at 6". Overlap them just slightly and glue together. Glue 17" rick-rack to one of the edges leaving the last 1/2" free. Score and fold accordion style every 1/2". Glue ends together. Scrunch together to make cupcake paper shape and gently place over the box on the doilie base. Using a 3" styrofoam ball, cut and pin various 3-D and flat flower shapes using the AP cart. Cover the entire top of the ball and insert gently into the top of the cupcake. Cut elements of your choice and stamp with your choice of inks/stamps (I used AP shapes/oval) and CTMH stamps and Hollyhock ink...sorta matches the Dotty paper! Punch two small holes and insert a half chennile stem. I am very happy with the way these turned out and the kids had a great time at the party!

THIS is the card that I really, really like...not sure why it didn't post with the others...but here it is! : )
OK - I'm not sure I like the changes they have made to blogspot...I just posted a bunch of photos and a bunch are missing...if they're not there tomorrow I'm going to be a little upset...seems like they mess with things that don't need fixing! Good night all!
And last, but not least, a few card samples. They are pretty much a hodge podge of things running around in my brain and I don't think I borrowed anything from anyone...if I did, I apologize...but I'm not remembering any specific project that I have seen that inspired these!

Here's a little birthday card set (from the new consultant kit) - matching set!

And I think this last post of the evening is my most very favorite card to date. I like the way the muted grey looks on the card...I had a lot of comments about this card at my gathering, too. Just love it!

This is a cute little tag/card that I found on the AP Cartridge...I cut, then folded and stitched around three sides with my old sewing machine (great tool for crafting!). Stamping and additional elements added afterwards....got a lot of nice comments about it at the gathering.

A couple sample scrapbook page layouts...one from this Easter and one of a more heritage-look.

I love the way the butterflies turned out! I used some bright colored card stock I had on hand and some embossed vellum and made them look 3-D. I'm having a Cricut AP workshop this coming Wednesday if all goes as planned.

Getting tired so my brain isn't saying all I want to say... I have lots and lots of different pieces of papers and card stocks - some are D.O.T.S. even! Some are older CTMH...some are just bits and pieces I've picked up at garage sales, etc. I'm going to be able to use a lot of them it seems like!
Another thing I did for my Grand Opening was to make some of the little AP Cart boxes and put inside a dark chocolate kiss and also a hug...I told them they got hugs and kisses for coming to my Grand Opening!

Also cut out some small circles (AP cart also) and stamped on them, used some watercolor pencil and after they were dry I used liquid glass on the edges and glued them to some "stones" from the Dollar Tree. Attaching a magnet on the back gives them something to remind them of me, too!

I wanted to do something a little bit more special as well as promote the Cricut "Art Philosophy" cartridge at my Grand Opening. So...I made these little "thank you" tags. Everything was cut out using the AP cart...then I assembled them, adding some shading on the edges before gluing. Then I made a small rose and leaf. You can't tell, but there is a small jewel in the center of each rose. I outlined the edges of the tag with gold gel pen and added the red ribbon. A heart with a number is on the back of each tag. This was used for a door prize drawing. It was also a good selling point for the AP Cart...sold two!

The set up for my "Grand Opening" gathering, April 21st. Eleven RSVP'd and 5 actually showed up...but I have booked 5 gatherings and I'm going to meet the $300 goal of sales by the time this gathering closes at midnight tomorrow! Or at least come really, really close...: )

I know...after an extended absence...I'm back!  And I'm actually going to post those promised photos! I've been doing a lot of crafting. I've been taking some of the online training academy classes and still have a lot of catching up to do...but I'll get there. This is a nametag I designed using Art Philosophy and an old tag I had hanging around.

Tuesday, April 10, 2012

Ever had a week when every day becomes a little more insane? Story of my week so far...haven't had time to craft or take any online seminars or ANYTHING!!! Very frustrating...too many bills, too little money, too much going on right now.

On a brighter note, my Grand Opening is coming together for the 21st! I don't have any advance orders (yet), but I have people who are curious and a few definite people coming.

I can't order any of the new idea books...no money...sigh...oh, well...guess I'll just have to refer everyone to the online book!

Need to get some sleep...busy day again tomorrow, and the next day, and Friday....oh my...

Monday, April 9, 2012

Oooooh...I am soooo bad...HAPPY EASTER everyone! Yesterday was a beautiful day, but full to the brim! After a wonderful Easter service (sang in the choir) and teaching the 5/6 year old class in Primary, we came home to a wonderful smell! The pork roast I'd left cooking in the crock pot was ready and basically all I had to do was heat up the rolls I'd made Saturday evening and make the homemade mashed potatoes. We had late lunch for 7...then an egg hunt for the little kids. After they went home it was dozing off for hubby and me! Oh, yummy lunch though...youngest daughter brought a cool pasta salad and lime jello...and deviled eggs. Oh, yum! Took lots of pictures so I'm working on an Easter page that I hope to post soon. Working today on organizing some stuff and hopefully will make at least one sample today....maybe.

Saturday, April 7, 2012

Thank you so much for all of the comments! I feel very loved!

Today was a beautiful spring day here in the Pacific Northwest. Spent most of the day in Bellevue at the Seattle Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints...just what I needed. It was our Stake Temple day before Stake Conference next week. Spent some great time with some great friends.

On to Easter tomorrow...have the homemade rolls made and baked. Will get the pork roast on in the morning and then just have to make the homemade mashed potatoes after church.

Will try and post a new project or two this week, but the kids go back to school, so that means I have music/art students this week, too. Will keep you posted....thanks again!

Thursday, April 5, 2012

Thank you for all of the good feedback, help with blogging and wonderful comments...makes me feel much better! Off to get some sleep and on to another day tomorrow...take care my crafty friends! Blessings!

Well...I actually had a little bit of time to craft today. Here is my take on the Art Philosophy Bag and Bunny! So much fun! Since I have one of the original Cricut machines, I don't have as much choice of sizes - 1" to 5 1/2" with only a few variables in between. Ah well...I made it work! Cute, huh?

Wednesday, April 4, 2012

A very rewarding day searching for some family history with my cousin. Also started working on some gift boxes and favors for my gathering...will try and post a photo tomorrow afternoon after my student for voice/art lessons has gone home. Time to talk the cat into sleeping...he woke me up at 3 a.m. today! (Yawn)

Monday, April 2, 2012

Good evening...I'm working on a little surprise element for my "Grand Opening" Gathering and will hopefully post a "teaser" here sometime in the next day or so. Stay tuned...much more to come!

Business Card Samples

Well, as promised...days ago...I finally got some sample business cards scanned and added to my blog! I thought that I'd use the same basic set-up for all of my cards, but will change the stamps and colors, perhaps add a little from "Art Philosophy" every now and then...we shall see. What do you think? (These have a watermark on them, but the 'real' ones don't!) More posts to come shortly.
